Sunggoe Subsector is Subsector L of Windhorn Sector.

Description / Specifications[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

Sunggoe Subsector is a region that has seen millennia of settlement by both Humans and Vargr. During the Ziru Sirka its rimward and trailing worlds had many millions of Human inhabitants and were generally more technologically advanced than they are today.

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
  • Many worlds have Ziru Sirka-era ruins and remains on their surfaces.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Sunggoe Subsector:

  • The subsector is an average stellar density region.
  • There is no one significantly brighter star: the region contains many white main sequence stars of similar brightness.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Sunggoe Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

Two rift areas dominate the subsector: the Sunggoe Void and the Windhorn Rift.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.

The boundaries of rifts were established centuries ago, when the highest commonly encountered tech level was TL–12.

World Listing[edit]

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
24 Worlds in the Sunggoe Subsector

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.

  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Sunggoe Subsector was originally settled by scattered groups of Vilani during the Ziru Sirka and some worlds were incorporated into the Empire under the dominion of the Naasirka bureaux. It was overrun by the Vargr during the Long Night and continues to be a Vargr-dominated region into the present day.

Polity Listing[edit]

The following polities lie within the subsector:

Capital[edit]

Uangi is the current capital of the 17th Disjuncture.

Native Sophonts (NILs)[edit]

No races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this area.

Subsector Timeline[edit]

Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:

Subsector Summary[edit]

Sunggoe, subsector L of Windhorn, contains 24 worlds with an estimated combined population of 8 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,449, and a total economy of BCr20,024. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr69 through 21 starports (3 Class A, 4 Class B, 12 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 8,150 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Sunggoe maintain 13 Naval bases and nine Corsair bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 13 at Uangi (Windhorn 2629).

Sunggoe, subsector L of Windhorn, contains 29 stars and 234 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, five binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 16 of the 24 systems (66%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, three Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, seven Poor (Po) worlds, one Vacuum (Va) world, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Sunggoe has an estimated population of 8 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Knueavilighz (Windhorn 3023). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

1 identified sophont population in Sunggoe

17th Disjucture[edit]

The 17th Disjucture has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 8 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,449, and a total economy of BCr20,024. The governments in the 17th Disjucture maintain 13 Naval bases and nine Corsair bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 9). The highest technology level is 13 at Uangi (Windhorn 2629).

The 17th Disjucture has an estimated population of 8 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Knueavilighz (Windhorn 3023). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
