Tureded is an agricultural, nonindustrial, pre-rich world with a growing agro-economy, but still lacks an adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This world has promising economic future although it needs to recruit a larger labor force in order to achieve the desired prosperity.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lanth Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector in the Domain of Deneb.
- Tureded is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Tureded has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Tureded has a normal climate and a standard oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere. The planet is a breadbasket world, supplying foodstuffs for across the region, while the port is a major trade hub where goods of all types change hands.
It orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Tureded is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Tureded has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Tureded has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prior to the Fifth Frontier War Tureded was viewed as having increasing importance as a trade and shipping center because of its location at a junction for jump-1 travel from rimward to the Regina, Jewell, and Rhylanor subsectors. Tureded was widely expected to be upgraded to a class B Starport and the Scout Service was negotiating the establishment of a Scout Base, with the apparent intention of an X-Boat link from Rhylanor (Spinward Marches 2716) to Dinomn (Spinward Marches 1912) and Regina (Spinward Marches 1705). However, the independent nature of the locals, who were not keen on an influx of offworlders, delayed expansion of the starport and negotiations over the base, and as the Fifth Frontier War broke out negotiations were broken off.
On 251-1107 Turededian authorities announced the discovery and arrest of a number of "sleeper" agents in high places in their planetary government. The agents were citizens of the Sword Worlds Confederation, disguised as locals, who had spent years working their way unobtrusively into the highest councils of the planetary government. The agents were to break the vital jump-1 route to Regina and the war zone by turning Tureded against the Imperium and destroying or impounding supply vessels on their way to the front.
Between 180- and 200-1109, the Zhodani 40th Fleet captured Tureded as part of a wider Abyss Campaign. On 200-1109 the 40th Fleet was forced to halt an important offensive push after discovering that their secret base at Fulacin (Spinward Marches 2613) had been compromised. Faced with a choice between taking a destroyed base and establishing a new one, the 40th Fleet retreated back to Tureded and established their base there. From the Tureded base, the 40th Fleet jumped off to attack and invade both Porozlo (Spinward Marches 2715) and Rhylanor.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Tureded has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- This starport is significantly larger than many others classed C, and is widely said to be overdue for expansion into a full Class-B installation.
World Population (P)[edit]
Tureded has a population of 600,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Tureded possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Tureded is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
World Military[edit]
The inhabitants of Tureded are ornery believers in self-determination, self-defense, and personal armament. While the world was occupied during the Fifth Frontier War, the locals mounted an intensive guerrilla campaign combined with sabotage in the starport facilities that effectively denied the port to the Zhodani.
World Law (L)[edit]
Tureded has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Tureded, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the estate and fiefdom of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial baronet.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial baron.
