Raschev does not meet the criteria for any standard classification.
- It is a client state of the Third Imperium in the Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- Raschev is a member of the Spinward Main.
- It lies on the Sisters' Reach.
Description / Astrography & Planetology
Raschev is an Imperial Client State located on a branch of the Spinward Main in the Reidain Subsector of Foreven Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Stars
Raschev has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data
The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- An unknown number of secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Raschev is a fairly large world, measuring around 13,000 km in diameter with a standard atmosphere and water covering 90% of the world surface. The climate is similar to that of Terra, with the inhabited areas concentrated in the southern temperate zone on a single subtropical continent.
- The weather tends to be rather more moderate than usual for Earth-like planets, with temperatures usually ranging from around 10°C to 25°C.
Mainworld Size (S)
Raschev is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Raschev has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences generally moderate temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Raschev has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Raschev's single continent is a jumbled mixture of rich farmlands, broken terrain, mountain ridges, and forests.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
Native Lifeforms
Raschev has an extremely varied and diverse biosphere that is largely unexplored and uncatalogued. A very large number of the species are amphibious and multi-legged.
History & Background / Dossier
Raschev was first settled by colonists from the Imperium about two centuries ago. It remains a comparative backwater, and off-world ships rarely land, with the exception of a packet from Garoo (Spinward Marches 0130) every 3 months. As a result, there is a general attitude of respect, even awe, for off-world technology; the people are inclined to look up to off-worlders in general and Imperials in particular.
World Starport
Raschev has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level
Raschev possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
- An Imperial technical assistance mission constructed a fusion power station in 1102 which supplies power to most of the inhabitants. Budget cutbacks and the rising tide of war in the Spinward Marches have caused that project to end, but the inhabitants maintain the station.
World Government
Raschev is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
