Imsaggir is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Akkula Worlds Subsector of Ilelish Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- 100% of the population consists of Suerrat.
- This world has colonies at Prunt and Shalud.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Imsaggir is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
Binary Solar System
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Imsaggir has a slow rotation period: one local day is equivalent to 6.5 standard days (154 standard hours).
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Imsaggir is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Imsaggir has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- Temperatures during daylight hours are elevated.
- Temperatures plummet to below freezing at night.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Imsaggir has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- During the middle of the night pack ice may form.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Suerrat religious leader Kaisokiituar, noted for her anti-Imperial viewpoints, became prominent on Imsaggir in 1072 and subsequently gathered a significant following. Both the Imperium and the Suerrat Cultural Region authorities watch the growing religion warily.
Llelish Interstellar, the leading media corporation within Ilelish Sector, maintains facilities and offices on the world.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Imsaggir has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Imsaggir has a population of 6,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- Almost the entire population consists of Suerrat.
Languages[edit]
The following languages are most typically heard:
- Anglic: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Na'ans: the most widely spoken Suerrat language.
- Vilani: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Yaudal, a commonly spoken Suerrat language.
Urbanization[edit]
Suerrat cities are very crowded. Suerrat populations are at a density where other species find the mental health of the inhabitants deteriorates; by contrast, Suerrat thrive in these conditions.
- Suerrat like natural surroundings and will incorporate vegetation and even small animals into their urban areas, wherever possible.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Imsaggir possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Imsaggir is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
Imsaggir is also part of the Suerrat Cultural Region. The Suerrat United Worlds Council is funded through payments of all member worlds, calculated based on each world's population and economic wealth; it also receives voluntary donations from large organisations and businesses, both within and without the cultural zone.
Military[edit]
For peacekeeping purposes, the Suerrat United Worlds Council can request troops and vessels volunteered from member worlds to be deployed under its purview, but only within the boundaries of the Suerrat Cultural Zone. Imsaggir is a primary provider of military forces within the region.
World Law (L)[edit]
Imsaggir has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Imsaggir, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial count.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial minor duke.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 4 (important)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: F (extremely abundant)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: G (very comprehensive)
- Efficiency: +3 (improved)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 8 (discordant)
- Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
- Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: C (very abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- ca -250,000: the Suerrat are transplanted to Ilelish by the Ancients.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump drive technology. Over many centuries, pioneers and settlers gradually spread out from Vland, their homeworld.
- prior to -8100: a Suerrat pre-Jump multi-world civilization flourishes, centered on Ilelish.
- circa -8100: The Vilani make contact with the Suerrat and sell them jump technology.
- prior to -5400: the Suerrat have established a multi-world polity using jump drives. It would become one of the first targets of the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka controls the world.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the sector and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 76: Ilelish Pacification Campaign.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 418-435: the Ilelish Revolt.
- 604-622: the Civil War.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
- 1072: the Suerrat religious leader Kaisokiituar becomes prominent.
