Janosz (World) Synopsis

Squee'kak is a nonindustrial, oceanic water world.

• It is covered with very deep oceans with less than 1% of its land above sea level.
• The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 1% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
• As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Harlequin Subsector of Solomani Rim Sector in the Domain of Sol.
• Janosz is located on the Rim Main of the Solomani Rim.

Description

Janosz is only slightly less than average in size, measuring 8,000 kilometers in diameter, with a standard atmosphere and water covering 40% of the planet's surface.

Janosz has a population slightly in excess of eight billion, and is listed as a balkanized world with an average law level of 8. There are, in fact, thirty-two sovereign states on the planet, with populations ranging from only a few million to over 100 million. One of these states, Intanevac, is a representative democracy enjoying a high degree of personal freedom, and is widely known for its political and religious tolerance. The the capital of Intanevac is the city of Argon, which is the site of the world's largest (and only class A) Starport. Due to the influence of the large population of starfarers in the city, the local law level of Argon is actually 4.

Janosz has two stars in the star system.
