Notes (2018)[edit]

This article is VERY poorly written. Suugest rewriting and editing by an actual writer/editor. Also, no sources for the info were directly cited. Is this someones Fan Fiction? We have several sets if data for this world and its people. Some are conflicting.

  • I also think that there may be conflicts with several sophont species with similar names:
  1. Otrai
  2. Otari
  3. Otarri
  • I haven't researched this yet.

Notes (2020)[edit]

CT Spinward Marches, Spinward Marches Campaign and TNE Regency Sourcebook all say TL 2

And Faldor Planet of Adventure - which surely should be a canonical source is very much based on the planet being late medieval to renaissance.

AFAICS the TL5 comes from GURPS Behind the Claw which is of course well known to be a seriously botched publication (plus of course GURPS TL's map poorly to Traveller TLs) and it was GURPS BtC which also introduced the Otarri and implies that Otarri are the only inhabitants.

However Mongoose 1's Spinward Marches did take back Faldor to TL2.

But this was changed in the 2nd edition Mongoose BtC to TL5 - presumably based on travellermap,

Therefore I can see no justification at all for keeping Faldor at TL5 where every GDW and Mongoose Traveller publication up to the latest one (which has UWPs ased on travellermap) has it at TL2 - the T5 survey may say it is TL5 but I can see no justification for that change.

The Otarri I think can be kept as a small population isolated from the main continent so 5% alien population sounds about right.

I am quite happy to summarise the world description from Faldor World of Adventure but am new here and don't want to step on anyone's toes.

Notes (2013)[edit]

The current T5 second survey data says Faldor has TL–5. There may be older references with other values, but the T5SS overrides all other references.

Why T5? No one actually uses or plays T5.
