No mention of those famous Cymbeline chips? For shame!

A9F4840-E[edit]

So according to my copy of Adventure 13, Cymbeline's UWP is A9F4840-E. Its atmosphere type is not ellipsoidal, but very thin, pooling into deep canyons, where it is breathable, as described on p. 34 of the text. In other words, Type F, not Type E. Supplement 10 The Solomani Rim gives the same.

Also, the Tech Level is E, not D.

In the Little Black Books era, the "thin, low" atmosphere type was encoded as F; sometime between then and the modern era (T5/Mongoose) that got changed to E (would be interesting to know why; anyone?). Second Survey/TMap/this site follow the code change.
Modern sources do give a different TL than the LBBs. This is not the worst inconsistency between then and now; some 8s in the Spinward Marches became Bs (or was it vice versa?) due to a misread that became perpetuated. Patrick Morris Miller (talk) 21:07, 17 November 2023 (EST)
I hadn't realized MgT recoded the atmospheres. Either way, it probably should not be placed in the category Ellipsoid World. Rwflammang (talk) 22:36, 17 November 2023 (EST)
I also note the T5 atmosphere types agree with the T1 (LBB) atmospheres; T=F means thin and low. T=E means ellipsoidal. Rwflammang (talk) 22:44, 17 November 2023 (EST)
My 5.09 and 5.10 use both E and F for thin/low in different places. TMap uses E, this site's UWP template uses F. Lovely. Patrick Morris Miller (talk) 23:00, 17 November 2023 (EST)
I just did a PDF search on my 5.10 softcopies on elips. Every occurence of ellipsoidal was on atmosphere tables, and they all said the code was E. On the next row of each table has F for Thin-low. Rwflammang (talk) 21:35, 18 November 2023 (EST)
Check page 25 of volume 3: E is "Thin Low" (no dash), F is "Unusual". Patrick Morris Miller (talk) 22:18, 18 November 2023 (EST)
Awkward. Rwflammang (talk) 22:35, 18 November 2023 (EST)

Chirpers[edit]

Very cool information in this article. Thanks to all the editors involved.

The notion that Cymbeline has Chirpers intrigues me. Is there any published material that mentions this?
