The Referee is encouraged to treat all missiles fired at the same target in the same round by Bricks in the same area and range band relative to the target at time of firing, as a single volley for most purposes, though multiple electronic warfare actions can target them in a single round. The Referee is also encouraged to remind players who wish to take on a 1,000-strong Brick wall without a capital ship and supporting fleet, that a typical Scout or Free Trader has no hope of shooting down 1,000 missiles before they hit, let alone 1,000 missiles per combat round. There have been pirates who have tried, though.
The check to bypass the Security software on a typical Brick is 16+. On a failure, the Brick's Agent software will typically detect the intrusion and block all further communications from the hacker, then tell the rest of the swarm to do so as well. Anyone hanging around after being shut out like this will find targeting radars and other such active sensors locked on them, then usually given a few more minutes (often around six - a single combat round) to begin leaving. Any who fail to do so within that time are presumed hostile (or clueless enough to pose a danger) and fired upon with no further warning, continuing until they either are destroyed or begin to move away.
