Description (Character)[edit]

Martin II: Oldest issue of Martin I. Born in 53, proclaimed emperor by the Moot in 195, died in 244 without issue.

History & Background (Biography)[edit]

He built the Grand Palace of Martin II, which was eventually destroyed in 620 after a brief siege by the forces of Marava.

Martin II, recognizing the growing importance of the frontier sectors of Deneb and the Spinward Marches, began the Vargr Campaigns (220 to 348) to clear the routes connecting them to the main territories of the Imperium.

Martin II was renowned as an environmentalist.

  • When the environment of Shaaak (later Syroe) became severely degraded by unbridled industry, Martin deindustrialised the planet and ordered a mass emigration of the local people to several nearby worlds. Syroe itself was put into conservatorship so Imperial ecologists could revive the world’s ailing environment.
  • Martin also ordered a soft interdiction of the unique twilight-zone jungles of Lectorsen.
