Shurkikhi has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Shurkikhi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. During the Long Night this world was named Iduun Am.

Shurkikhi is a member of the Andalusia Cluster.

History and Background

A system explored early in the Vilani's first expansion into Dagudashaag, Shurkikhi has offered little to the Imperium since its old ore mines were worked out prior to the collapse of the Ziru Sirka. The class B starport stems from the use of Shurkikhi as a naval staging post.

During the Vilani Pacification Campaigns, vessels passed from the Imau Cluster, moving to Andalusia (Dagudashaag 0810) before entering Gushemege Sector.

Recently the world has become the home of a number of Lancian artists of the Ultras movement on the extreme end of the group. The members of the Lancian colony have in effect been banned from operating in Lancian space due to the questionable activities of some of the artists in pursuance of their artistic aims.

World Starport (Sp)

Shurkikhi has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
