History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Thousands of years ago, during the first Amidaresh, this was a thriving Luriani world with a population of hundreds of millions. It was one of the final defensive bastions for Daramm during the Luriani Consolidation War and was subjected to a vicious assault, its population completely wiped out from orbit.
- During the First Luriani Protectorate, it was decided to re-colonise the world. The Protectorate's limited productive base prevented the construction of the arcologies which characterise Daramm.
- Shi's population stabilised in the low millions and it became a tourist destination for inhabitants of the crowded worlds of Daramm and Shirshagi.
- During an ecomonic downturn in Ley in later centuries, the economy collapsed along with tourist trade, and the majority of the population was forced to find employment elsewhere. Its population dwindled down to its current level of several thousand as the resorts closed.
- In 1100, an agreement was reached between the remaining population and the Luriani Cultural Association, designating the world for recolonisation. The intention is to build a number of archologies to receive these migrants, thus allowing the world's natural beauty to be preserved.
Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]
Shi, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
World Starport[edit]
Shi has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Government[edit]
Shi is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.

World Demographics[edit]
6,000 Luriani.
A significant minority of the cultural Luriani population are biological Solomani or Vilani. The Solomani, known as Veresti Dtareen (Terran Defenders) descend from Terran soldiers and administrators of the Rule of Man stranded during the Long Night, while the Vilani are known as Mmarislusant (Victims of History), and descend from stranded Vilani colonists. Both groups have absorbed much of Luriani culture and are seen both by themselves and the natives as being genuine Luriani.
Languages[edit]
Aaca is short-form for Aaeebuany't' limmisdasca.
Verasti Dtareen speak a variant of Anglic known as Luriani Anglic or "Lurglic", while the Mmarislusant retain their language of Old High Vilani. The Luriani Cultural Association expends considerable effort to ensure that all three languages remain in use.
