The Sci-Can class Laboratory Ship is intended as an alternate mustering out benefit, for anyone who would get a lab ship and desires a science ship more suited to a typical Traveller party than the default Type L class Laboratory Ship. The Sci-Eye class Observatory Ship is presented as an option to eventually upgrade to.
