Remington (Di 1820) is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Another noteworthy interstellar transport node, Remington is the favorite last port-of-call for most ships that are leaving the Alurzan Loop and venturing into Eberly Gap. The Ekuur system is astrographically the last stop on the Loop, but most captains do not opt for planetfall there. Typically they refuel at Ekuur's gas giants.

  • Remington enjoys a brisk trade with the influential world of Promise, located some distance to trailing. Remington constructs almost all of the new starships acquired by that high-population world. These starships are delivered via large convoys that pass through the Thicket system. Locals call this trade route the Thicket Run and a large number of employers and speculators are eager to find personnel and ships to serve this new mercantile artery. Contracts and salaries are lucrative, but the risk is high: Promise sits smack dab in the middle of the Wilds. And the Wilds are the stomping ground for pirates.

System Data[edit]

It is a binary star system with two red stars.

  • This habitable mainworld lies at the outer edge of the Goldilocks Zone.
  • There are two gas giants and no planetoid belts.

Mainworld Data[edit]

It is a frigid world with a substandard gravity and a high atmospheric pressure, but there is plenty of room (It is a large world).

  • It has a significant amount of habitable land although little of it is arable without technological assistance.
  • The oceans are large and there are significant ice caps at both the Northern and Southern poles.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

No information yet available.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

While the world possesses land and sea lifeforms as well as flyers, the greatest biological diversity of the world can be found within its vast oceans.

  • The world government hopes to establish viable fishing industries and kelp farms. Currents efforts are still fledgling.
  • While some of the life is exotic, much of it is digestible by mainstream sophontdom although some local foodstuffs require preparation to avoid gastric distress.
  • Local interstellar markets are starting to develop tastes for local foodstuffs.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Remington is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Alurza Subsector of Diaspora Sector in the Domain of Antares.
  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]

Remington (Di 1820), as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport[edit]

Remington (Di 1820) has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • The Class A starport is a massive facility known as Pittsburg Starport with both a downport and a highport.
  • Regular expeditions gather fuel at the gas giants and return them to the highport for sale.
  • The high atmospheric pressure gives all but the most hardy of sophonts a difficult breathing experience, so most residents use various kinds of respirators and pressure suits when not under dome or within a comfortable dwelling.

World Technology Level[edit]

Remington (Di 1820) possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government[edit]

Remington (Di 1820) has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

  • The world was colonized from a nearby system and is still governed from that system as a colony.
  • Laws are not overly strict and many are outright ignored or poorly enforced as lucrative trade is favored.

World Military[edit]

World Economy[edit]

This world lies along a number of trade routes and enjoys lucrative interstellar trade:

The local economy is booming despite its small agricultural and industrial concerns. It is projected to reach a pre-rich status within the next decade.

Trade Data[edit]

No information yet available.

World Demographics[edit]

While most of the population consists of baseline humans, mostly of Solomani and Vilani descent, it's not uncommon to see Aslan, Dryone, or Hivers at and around the central starport.

World Culture[edit]

The locals tend to be hardy bunch with a pioneering attitude and very welcoming of strangers, where most trade and new immigrants originate.

  • Most of the local jobs come from a developing service sector and active trade market.

Historical Data[edit]

This world was originally colonized during the Interstellar Wars.
