Oujda is a poor, non-agricultural and industrial high-population hellworld with a billion or more sophonts in size who still struggle to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
  • It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Banderhue Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Oujda has a solitary primary star.

  • It is an orange subgiant.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones warmer inner H+ region
  • It receives higher levels of stellar energy.

Chart H+ Region Mw.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Oujda is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Oujda has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

  • The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
  • Oxygen is produced by photocatalytic conversion of surface materials by stellar energy.
  • Fresh surface material is constantly exposed through processes such as seismic activity, volcanism, or erosion.
  • The oxygen rapidly depletes from the atmosphere through oxidization with surface materials: a rough equilibrium between production and depletion exists.
  • The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere varies according to the density of global cloud cover.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Oujda has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)

Native Lifeforms[edit]

No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Oujda is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

The Oujda Trade[edit]

The Oujda Trade is the name given to a trading route between Oujda and the Trooles Confederation, lying some 8 parsecs to spinward in Monway Subsector. It is a jump-2 route that winds between the better quality starports of the region.

  • The Confederation and Oujda have an economic and defensive alliance.
  • Oujda constructs a significant percentage of the Confederation's starships and spacecraft.
  • Oudja provides almost all of the vehicles and weapons used by the Confederation.
  • The world supplies a constant stream of advanced consumer goods and products.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Oujda has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Al-Boraq Shipyards is a major construction corporation.

World Population (P)[edit]

Oujda has a population of 40,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).

Urbanization[edit]

Sprawling megacities, towering arcologies, and large satellite communities cover the surface.

  • Cities are located across the world.
  • Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
  • Regional centers have their own starports.
  • Little of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Oujda possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government (G)[edit]

Oujda is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will have better rules of succession and may last longer or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.

World Law (L)[edit]

Oujda has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). All aspects of life rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 4 (important)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: E (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 9 (billions)
  • Infrastructure: G (very comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: F (fragmented)
  • Acceptance: E (extremely xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: A (incomprehensible)
  • Symbols: J (incomprehensibly abstract)
