Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Nibar class Strike Cruiser is a medium warship.
- It is a military ship and a Strike Cruiser.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
It is a vessel with 4-G and J-4 performance with a streamlined needle hull. There is a Model/7 fib ship computer, and the hull is streamlined to permit ocean refueling with scoops and refineries. It has Jump-4 range, 4 Gs acceleration and 3 agility.
- It carries heavy armament and a military defensive suite. This light class of TL–13 Strike Cruiser has longer range and a spinal mounted meson gun. It is designed to pick off targets from extreme range and not close with the enemy. Armed with four beam laser batteries, two fusion gun bays, two particle accelerator bays, and fourteen heavy missile bays it can cripple enemy shipping. For defense it has two batteries of sand casters, two repulsor bays, and screens. It lacks armor and can not withstand prolonged punishment.
- It ordinarily carries several subcraft, ship's vehicles, and drones when needed. There are a pair of 30-ton ship's boats to support the marine platoon. The marines have drop capsules for orbital assaults.
- It has a 270 sophont crew and 30 marines.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Build at Jarnac for the Jarnac Pashalic which partially lies in the Spinward Drift Subsector of the The Beyond Sector. The Jarnac Pashalic Navy relies on this class to pick off targets of opportunity and avoid pitched battle. So far there are fifteen of these assassins supporting the main battle line in the BatRon stationed at Trend (world).
