Description (Specifications)[edit]
New Brooklyn class Reconnaissance Cruisers
It is a vessel with 2-G and J-2 performance with a partially streamlined cylindrical configuration hull. They were capable of wilderness gas giant refueling operations. They can carry jump 2 drop tanks for extended range and drop tanks for an addition 28 days of power plant fuel to allow them to remain on station longer, manning a picket, a blockade or siege. They carried enough fuel for seven jump 1s, or more typically three jump-2s with a jump 1 reserve. For longer patrols they would frequently be called upon to share fuel with shorter legged brothers in the fleet.
- It carries medium armament and a defensive suite. Designed to serve as a fleet scout element. The ended up as a glorified tanker. Lacking a knock out punch they were forced into support roles.
- It ordinarily carried 2 x 30T Ship's Boats subcraft and 4 x 8T G Carriers, 6 x 20T Launches ship's vehicles, and drones only when needed. They carried two reinforced marine platoons with 80 assault capsules.
- It has a 164 sophont crew and 80 marines. They had 85 double occupancy staterooms for 164 crew which include: 11 command, 16 engineering, 14 gunnery, 21 flight, 22 service and 80 marines.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
They served with the Terran Confederation Navy during the period of the Interstellar Wars. Originally designed as an idealistic and optimistic long range exploration vessel, with a low watch of 82 scientists and planetary survey teams. They were built in cheap civilian grade cylindrical hulls without any form of armor or reinforcement. They carried a good sized marine compliment for their modest size and were pressed into service for surface assault roles and planetary bombardment. The designed was pressed into military service with a quick series of refits. They carried copious numbers of subcraft and vehicles to support survey teams scattered across new systems, which proved versatile and useful for military operations as well. Because they were mostly big flying fuel tanks, they were very inexpensive to build and maintain, especially in bulk orders. They were very easy to repair and could use civilian parts if mil spec was unavailable unlike some of their bigger and more finicky brethren.
