Nagad is a poor, pre-industrial hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- This world would like to become a major industrial powerhouse in the subsector, but lacks the population and resources to build an adequate workforce and industrial business sector.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Pieshivl Subsector of Fulani Sector.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Nagad.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Nagad has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence named Anagda.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits inside the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Nagad is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Nagad has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Nagad has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
- Much of the surface is an arid, hostile environment.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Native life thrives in arid conditions.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Nagad is a quiet backwater with a stable economy and acceptable standards of living.
- The resources of the mainworld are being exploited.
It is the homeworld of the Nagad.
- They are large, flying, serpentine, egg-laying scavengers with two pairs of wings and manipulator tentacles. They live in a strict caste-based society and have an obsessive need to organize.
- First contact occurred millennia ago.
There is limited activity within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships only occasionally visit.
- Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in local languages.
- One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
- A few vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
At around the same point in history (circa -250,000), five separate species – the Chowwar, Enchai, Huuran, Muu, and Nagad – all evolved intelligence.
- The Nagad and all four other species share dormant, nearly identical markers within their genetic makeup.
- The homeworlds of all five species lie within the same general region.
- Other than the timing of their emergent sapience, they have few other biological or chemical similarities.
- At almost exactly the same time, Droyne were transplanted onto Naylyoeatru.
Red is Naylyoeatru.
Yellow is other sophont homeworlds.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Nagad has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Nagad has a population of 10 million Nagad.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
- Large regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Nagad possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Nagad is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 100,000 elite Guardians, trained from hatching.
World Law (L)[edit]
Nagad has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
- Efficiency: -1 (average)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 8 (discordant)
- Acceptance: 5 (very aloof)
- Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
World Timeline[edit]
- ca -250,000: the Nagad emerged as an intelligent species.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
