A person who performs for the benefit of an audience.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The key feature of an Entertainer is that they create a performance for the benefit of an audience. Whether this is "Live" (and the audience is directly present), or "Studio" (and the audience is remote in time and/or space) is important to the creative process but not to the definition of the role.

The performance created may involve the audience as its recipient only or as co-creators of it. In any case, the quality of the performance can be judged by the feedback from the audience - either immediately (in an interactive performance) and/or later in review.

Selected Entertainer Roles[edit]

  1. Actor: Speech and Movement
  2. Dancer: Movement
  3. Musician: Music (Instrumental)
  4. Orator: Speech
  5. Singer: Music (Vocal)

n.b. Roles may merge: An Opera Singer is both a Singer and Actor; a Vocal Musician is both a Singer and Musician; a Musical Actor may be a Singer, Dancer and Actor.
