Madra is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Syzlin Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.

The sulphurous emissions of the world's many volcanoes cause an atmospheric taint.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Government[edit]

Madra has one of the most ineffectual democracies in Charted Space. The elected representatives can't even agree on where to meet to discuss an issue, and many an important decision has delayed by wrangling over something as petty as the shape of the conference table and the seating arrangements. However, the government of Madra means well, and society struggles along in a cheerfully ineffectual sort of way.

Relations[edit]

Karhyri visitors aren't uncommon, and while they frequently become frustrated by the Madrans’ inability to get anything done, they seem to like their Human neighbours. Indeed, the system appears to be under some sort of unofficial protection by the Karhyri Worlds.
