Mackenzie - located about 300 km from Selkirk - is the political and administrative capitol of the Caledon home system.
Caledon is the home of the monarchy that rules both the home system and the principality; Mackenzie is the headquarters of the "Interior Ministry", the bureaucracy that serves as the home system's government.
Outside the Government district, Mackenzie is also a major regional commercial center.
