Kolhapur is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Jauhaux Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.

Kolhapur is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Kolhapur has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- It experiences low temperatures within the narrow twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Kolhapur has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- The twilight zone is littered with pack ice and icebergs.
- The dark side of the world is covered in an unstable floating crust of fractured ice.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Kolhapur is a backwater outpost with almost no development or economy.
- Settlement within the system comes from trailing, from the heavily populated worlds of the Verstand-Jugartha Colonies.
- The resources of the system are almost entirely untapped.
There is little activity within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships very occasionally visit.
- Commo picks up occasional signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
- A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
- Vessels are unlikely be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.

World Starport (St)[edit]
Kolhapur has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
