Kapalon is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and nonindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- They require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- These worldlets have very few prospect for economic expansion.
- It is a member of the Kingdom of Peladon in the Alpha Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- Asteroid belts have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Kapalon has a solitary primary star.
- It is an unstable yellow subgiant.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Kapalon is an Asteroid Belt mainworld.
The belt orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
- The belt lies just inside the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Kapalon is an Asteroid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects.
- Asteroid Belt is the belt when it is the mainworld of a system.
- Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
None of the bodies within the Kapalon Belt retain an atmosphere.
- The belt is in vacuum conditions, requiring the use of a Vacc Suit.
- TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
The Kapalon Belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.
- Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
- Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held chart of the belt exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Kapalon has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
The starport is the private property of the Kingdom of Peladon. It is operated and run by the Kingdom.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Kapalon has a population of 5 million.
Urbanization[edit]
A single city tunnelled into a large rocky planetoid.
- Small facilities exist on other rocky bodies.
- Structures and facilities are sealed.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Kapalon possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Kapalon is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
World Military[edit]
World Law (L)[edit]
Kapalon has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
- Efficiency: -3 (poor)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 2 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: 7 (somewhat concrete)
