Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Kald is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Kald has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
It is a member of Karhyri Worlds in the Syzlin Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.
Around -2500, the Karhyri managed to colonize Kald by means of sublight starships. They found the remains of a crashed Hiver vessel on the planet. Its crew had perished decades, possibly centuries, before, but enough of their technology remained intact that within 50 years the Karhyri were able to build crude Jump-capable vessels.
World Starport[edit]
Kald (CM 0440) has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kald has a population of 300,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
World Demographics[edit]
The population consists almost entirely of Karhyri. Groups of visiting alien traders and tourists may be encountered.
World Languages[edit]
- Karhyr: The common Karhyri language.
World Technology Level[edit]
Kald (CM 0440) possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Kald (CM 0440) has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
Karhyri nations are ruled by a caste of "servants of honor", akin to priests and administrators. They have been codified by Imperial scholars as civil service bureaucracies, but they are more complex than that.
Law[edit]
Laws (in the form of accepted customs, modes of behaviour and "debts of honor") are strict in the Karhyri Worlds, but society seems content with this well-ordered existence.
