Kaattji supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Amec Trade Protectorate and the Domain of Vland. Kaattji, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Ziip. The Nahuatl name of the world is Ipalnemoani.

Astrography and planetology

Kaattji is a member of the Dudin Cluster.

Originally a mining colony, the planet was stripped of all its valuable minerals then abandoned. The atmosphere is still heavily tainted with pollutants despite most of the world eco-sculpted into a garden paradise.

History and background

Kaattji is run as a planet-wide hospice by Dominican Universalist monks who oversee the medical facilities. Many of the small settlements are maintained under full quarantine procedures for the treatment of contagious patients. Although Kaattji is, in essence, an exile planet from which no-one ever leaves, no one is ever left to die alone even when personal medical attention is impossible.
