Hyperbelon is a rich, pre-agricultural world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in size.

  • The world's agricultural industry is growing and some economists forecast an explosion in this world's agribusiness in the near future as new agro-technology and a more capable labor force are imported.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • This world has high-grade living conditions with a good climate and a non-harmful environment. As such, this world is much sought after with large queues for immigration here.
  • It is a member of the Biumvirate located in the Cabala Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
  • This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
  • This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Hyperbelon is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a yellow main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Hyperbelon has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Hyperbelon is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Hyperbelon has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Hyperbelon has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Hyperbelon is the most populous world in the Biumvirate, a small and somewhat pro-Imperial polity; it effectively controls several nearby systems with small populations.

The Biumvirate government is organized into two separate, but equal bodies: the Civilitas and the Militas. All areas dealing with planetary affairs, population and economics are controlled by the Civilitas, while matters of interplanetary defense, space regulation, and interstellar diplomacy are dealt with by the Militas.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Hyperbelon has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Hyperbelon has a population of 400,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Hyperbelon possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Hyperbelon is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.

World Law (L)[edit]

Hyperbelon has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 3 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: F (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
  • Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
  • Efficiency: +3 (improved)

World Culture[edit]

The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.

  • Heterogenity: 8 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: B (extremely friendly)
  • Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
  • Symbols: A (abstract)
