Hevad is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Hevad has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones warmer inner H+ region
  • It receives higher levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Hevad is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Hevad has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Hevad has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Satellites[edit]

Hevad retains two small vacuum moons.

  • They orbit once every few weeks.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Hevad is busy, with a stable economy and decent standards of living.

  • It has been settled for centuries.
  • The resources of the system are being exploited.

A number of businesses, organizations, and private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is frequent: ships regularly arrive and depart.
  • Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
  • Multiple commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • A number of vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

It is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.

  • Visitors are advised to act with caution.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Hevad has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Hevad has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

Urbanization[edit]

A single vast metropolis is home to the entire population.

  • Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
  • Most of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Hevad possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Hevad is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

World Military[edit]

Approximately 10 million personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Hevad has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 0 (unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: D (very abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: 9 (extensive)
  • Efficiency: +4 (advanced)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: D (fragmented)
  • Acceptance: 9 (friendly)
  • Strangeness: 9 (extremely confusing)
  • Symbols: C (abstract)
