Ya'uiya-ko has both an unbreathably very thin atmosphere and no surface water which makes habitation by sophonts difficult. The environment does not allow agricultural production to feed the population in the tens of millions of sophonts. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Sapphyre Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ya'uiya-ko, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a marquis. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. 100% of the world's population is the Major Race Aslan. During the Long Night this world was named Pir. This world has also been known as Gracilis.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

Ya'uiya-ko is a member of the Dagudashaag Main. The naval base hosts elements of the 218th Fleet.

Mainworld Data[edit]

World Starport (Sp)

Ya'uiya-ko has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Size (S)

Ya'uiya-ko is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

World Atmosphere (A)

Ya'uiya-ko has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

World Hydrosphere (H)

Ya'uiya-ko has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

World Population (P)

Ya'uiya-ko has a population of 10,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Government (G)

Ya'uiya-ko has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law Level (L)

Ya'uiya-ko has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

World Technology Level (TL)

Ya'uiya-ko possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)

Ya'uiya-ko, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

First settled in the Aohalai/Oakhtai'yal migrations of the Long Night, Ya'uiya-ko was a major staging post for Aslan expeditions deeper into Dagudashaag. Clan vessels found a world which, though marginally habitable at best, has a valuable natural resource. Ya'uiya-ko is circled by the Ftya Khuika or Sable Prowlers, several large carbonaceous ice asteroids which are unusually rich in deuterium and rare carbon isotopes, making them a prime source of high-grade fusion fuel.

Centuries of mining work by the deutice prospectors has begun to break up the Prowlers into dark ring of debris circling the planet. However ice supplies seem sufficient for many hundreds of years.

Ahriy who have been able to assert territorial claims over part of the Prowlers have enjoyed considerable wealth, but that wealth has not always filtered down to the ground-size ahriy. This has resulted in severe social strains, and the fracturing of the two founder clans into at least a dozen bickering sub-clans. Fteirle cultural strictures have prevented a descent in to anarchy, but duels, assassinations, and the ousting of unproductive or complacent space side ahriy are very common.

The situation is complicated by the presence of the Imperial Naval Base. Recent Imperial Navy plans to established a high-grade fuel-processing facility in orbit around the innermost gas giant threaten to disrupt the entire system economy. The expansion of the surface installation, and the immigration of some 5,000 additional civilian support personnel, including at least a thousand Medurma Alikasch, have introduced even greater tensions.

In 1124, the Traveller News Service reported Lucan's forces inflicted several Black War strikes the world, doing extensive damage to habitation domes, subterranean galleries, port, and power production facilities. Combined with the inhospitable atmosphere this made the continuing habitation of the world difficult or impossible.
