Gemet is an icy, low-population world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Foralin Subsector of Far Home Sector.

System Data[edit]
Pollis-Gemet System[edit]
The primary is Pollis, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.04 Sols, a mass of 0.489 Sols, and a diameter of 764,000 km. (I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (II-I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (II-II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) Gallo, a small gas giant: (IIIb) Gemet is its outer satellite and is designated the mainworld, (IV) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (V) a ringed large gas giant, and (VI) a large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Arron Subsystem[edit]
The companion is Arron, a magenta-coloured L-type brown dwarf lying approximately 1,170 AU from Pollis. It is not luminous, it has a mass of 0.062 Sols and a diameter of 60,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet and (II) a small ice giant form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.
(III) Gallo[edit]
(III) Gallo is a small gas giant that orbits Pollis at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (101.7 million km), within the outer system, and has an orbital period of 292 days 21 hours. It has a diameter of 27,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 90% hydrogen (H2), 10% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. It is a deep blue color with narrow bands of high-level white clouds. It retains a family of two major satellites.
Satellites[edit]
Gallo retains two major satellites:
- (IIIa) Vero (UWP YS00000-0, orbiting at 7 Diameters/190,000 km)
- (IIIb) Gemet (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 12 Diameters/325,000 km)
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IIIb) Gemet[edit]
(IIIb) Gemet is the outer of the two major moons of (III) Gallo and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 12 diameters (325,000 km), with an orbital period of 31 days 14 hours: it is tidally locked to Gallo. The axial tilt is 3 degrees relative to Gallo. Gemet has a diameter of 5,152 km, a density of 4.54 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.33 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Gallo cause occasional geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Trace, with a mean surface pressure of 0.04 bar and a composition of 84% carbon dioxide (CO2), 14% nitrogen (N2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% neon (Ne), methane (CH4), abiotic oxygen (O2), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. Around 23% of the surface is covered in sheet of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -122°C. The climate is rated as Frigid and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is ethereal and weak weather systems driven by the star ghost across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 83 million km², Land surface area: 64 million km², Ice surface area: 19 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Pollis-Gemet System[edit]
No world in the system is known to have native life.
Arron Subsystem[edit]
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Gemet has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level[edit]
Gemet possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government[edit]
Gemet is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.
