Faarzgaen is a temperamental Vargr god.

Description[edit]

The Faarzgaen faith is a Vargr belief centered around a single deity, Faarzgaen, a god who slips between two distinct personalities at different times in history. Followers of the faith believe that their deity directly manipulates their thoughts and desires. Generally he is beneficent, but occasionally he displays a terrible rage. These changes in the deities mood are reflected in the political situation, the outcome of conflicts, the actions of individuals, and the circumstances that his followers enjoy. Times of benificence can last a century or two and are periods of prosperity and comfort, while times of rage generally last for a few decades and are marked by strife, upheaval, and war.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Faarzgaen religion originated on the world of the same name shortly after the end of the Long Night and spread along the worlds of the Llaegharrgh Chain.

A sect of the religion, the Jihad of Faarzgaen in Provence Sector, have made a radical interpretation of the faith the foundation of their interstellar state. They believe that Faarzgaen was displeased with many of his followers, who were seen as being too liberal and corrupt – in short, all those who were not members of the sect. The sect preached that non-believers were to be considered heretics, their territories and possessions were to be seized, and the unbelievers themselves should either be forcibly converted or destroyed.
