Encha does not meet the criteria for any standard classification.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Encha Subsector of Fulani Sector.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is the homeworld of the Enchai.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Encha is a binary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zones colder outer H- region.
- It receives lower levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits just beyond the stars Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Encha is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Encha has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Encha has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- The world experiences low temperatures.
- Much of the surface is a frigid, hostile environment.
Satellites:[edit]
Encha retains two small vacuum moons.
- The worlds orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Native life thrives in low temperatures.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Encha is is a quiet backwater with a stable economy and decent standards of living.
- The resources of the mainworld are being exploited.
It is the homeworld of the Enchai.
- They are competitive pelt-covered land slugs with a preference for cold environments that will eat anything organic.
- First contact occurred millennia ago.
A few organizations and private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is very infrequent: ships rarely visit.
- Commo generally only picks up natural background noise and static.
- A single commercial navigation beacon may be active.
- Vessels rarely operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
At around the same point in history (circa -250,000), five separate species – the Chowwar, Enchai, Huuran, Muu, and Nagad – all evolved intelligence.
- The Enchai and all four other species share dormant, nearly identical markers within their genetic makeup.
- The homeworlds of all five species lie within the same general region.
- Other than the timing of their emergent sapience, they have few other biological or chemical similarities.
- At almost exactly the same time, Droyne were transplanted onto Naylyoeatru.
Red is Naylyoeatru.
Yellow is other sophont homeworlds.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Encha has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Encha has a population of 70 million.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
- Large regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Encha possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World Government (G)[edit]
Encha is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Military[edit]
No information yet available.
World Law (L)[edit]
Encha has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 6 (few)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 3 (very limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 9 (discordant)
- Acceptance: 5 (very aloof)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: 3 (very concrete)
World Timeline[edit]
- ca -250,000: the Enchai emerged as an intelligent species.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
