A vaccine is commonly available on the world for this disease. The surface is roughly 40 percent surface water, which qualifies it as a wet world. The main world has a general population of 9 Billion local residents, which qualifies it as a High population world. The local government is characterized as Feudal Technocracy, with government by specific individuals for those who agree to be ruled Relationships are based on the performance of technical activities which are mutually beneficial. History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

  • -1940
    • Ships from Exploratory Mission Number 315 arrived and charted Durendal. They found the world already inhabited by non spacefaring humaniti. DNA testing confirmed the match, which added further weight to the Ancients Hypothesis. EM315 left behind several scientists to further study the world, and civilisers to help prepare the world for intervention.
  • 630
    • Scout ships from Skanor contacted the world. To their surprise they found humaniti, speaking Anglic, but not yet at the technological level for interstellar travel. However they were fully aware that humaniti existed on other worlds and were expecting that these other world humaniti would one day make themsleves known.

World starport[edit]

Durendal has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World technology level[edit]

Durendal possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government[edit]

Durendal is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
Durendal people are a fiercely independent group, and have so far refused to join with the Skania Pact worlds.

World Law Level[edit]

Durendal has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
As Skanor appreciates the trade route between Durendal and Skanor, they maintain a small fleet of space ships to discourage piracy. However Durendal can be a risky place to trade and there is known pirate activity in the system.
