Born Duncan Moore De Geoffrey in -283, he was the eldest son of Hamish and Sarah De Geoffrey.
Duncan was not nearly as capable a ruler as his father - and for his part, never quite felt up to the job. He abdicated the throne to his younger brother Roger in -201.
Of greater consequence was his son, Stuart - born of his second marriage, to Lady Mary McIntyre of Kirkkudbright - who went on to become Stuart II.
