Born Colin James Douglass in -162, son of John I and Princess Ann (although actually borne by Cynthia MacArthur and raised in the royal family as the heir).
Colin III took the throne at age 20. His reign largely continued his father and uncle's pattern; more booms than busts, moderate growth in prosperity. He also heavily prioritized the colonization and development of the Rob Roy system, originally annexed by his uncle in a short, sharp campaign against an entrenched Reaver organization. Rob Roy became "the jewel of the Principality" during Colin III's reign.
Colin also started the process of bringing the outlying worlds more closely under Caledonian central control.
Colin III stepped down in -126, generally considered a success as ruler. He turned rule over to his half-brother, John II.
