The moon’s parent body orbits in the outer half of its orange dwarf sun’s habitable zone. This gas giant, which has held the name Adliansh for the system’s entire history, has a moderating effect on the climate of Chyia Nedlkel.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

This world served as the original capital of the Zhodani Client State known as the Driantia Steblenzhtia or Vanguard Consulate. The world was renamed Chyia Nedlkel after the political radical and exploratory pioneer who advocated the abolition of the nobility in favor of widespread psionic testing of all citizens. The reforms of High Councillor Nedlkel were installed in the Driantia Steblenzhtia in Imperial year 666.

World Starport[edit]

Chyia Nedlkel has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Timeline[edit]

  • Prior to -2950: The gas giant moon Zdodren is settled as a mining and refuelling outpost by the Vlazhdumecta.
  • -2900: Loss of contact with Vlazhdumecta civilisation. Easy access to both metals and ice on the moon’s surface enables the small self-sufficient installation of Zdodren to survive.
  • 626: Founding of the Driantia Steblenzhtia. By this time, Zdodren -- now called Zhdeqr -- supports a population in the billions and is the obvious choice as the capital. Its culture mixes Vlazhdumecta and Zhodani customs with a locally evolved tradition of egalitarianism.
  • 656: Chyia Nedlkel becomes a High Councillor of Zhdeqr.
  • 666: Chyia Nedlkel institutes reforms calling for the psionic training of all of the world’s citizens. This reform is popular on Zhdeqr but not across the region -- and certainly not with the Zhodani Consulate leadership.
  • 674: Death of Chyia Nedlkel. The new leadership venerates the popular leader by supporting the effort to rename the world in his honour. However, they also take steps to limit the economic and societal disruptions arising from the psionic training of the majority of the population.
  • 680: The first attempt to repeal Chyia Nedlkel’s reforms brings the world to the brink of civil war.
  • 700: Although still named Chyia Nedlkel, the world has abandoned his reforms and returned to the norms of Zhodani society.
  • 879: Chyia Nedlkel remains the capital after the Driantia Steblenzhtia merges with the Colonnade Administrative District to become the Zhodani Consulate Colonnade Province.
  • 966: The capital is moved to Nielkladlief (the Consulate leadership still not fully trusting Chyia Nedlkel).
