Chi'aika Thaak is a vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • It is a part of the Sath Exploration program in the Aasa'tha Subsector of Course Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

(I) Thaak Khaa[edit]

(I) Thaak Khaa is a Rogue World, a large gas giant currently lying approximately 0.42 parsecs (1.35 light years, 85,375 AU) rimward-trailing of Cha'aika, the closest system. It has a diameter of 133,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 94% hydrogen (H2), 6% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. It is a deep blue color with broad dark bands and wispy white high altitude clouds. It retains a family of four major satellites.


Thaak Khaa retains four major satellites:

(Ia) Aakah (known UWP ?3A0???-?, orbiting at 7 Diameters/930,000 km)
(Ib) Cha'aika Thaak (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 10 Diameters/1.33 million km)
(Ic) Aa'assh (known UWP ?100???-?, orbiting at 12 Diameters/1.59 million km)
(Id) Thikas (known UWP ?101???-?, orbiting at 25 Diameters/3.32 million km)

(Ib) Cha'aika Thaak[edit]

(Ib) Cha'aika Thaak is the second of the four major moons of (I) Thaak Khaa and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 10 diameters (1.33 million km), with an orbital period of 120 days 10 hours: it is tidally locked to Cha'aika Thaak. The axial tilt is 4 degrees relative to Thaak Khaa. Cha'aika Thaak has a diameter of 5,126 km, a density of 3.88 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.28 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Thaak Khaa cause regular geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. Around 7% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -236°C.
