A commercial police and security force of The Belt. Many asteroids contract out their security and policing to security companies, small and large. Dark Star Security is one of the largest.
Organisation[edit]
Dark Star Security is a division of the Dark Star Group.
Typically, a specific location is the responsibility of a Deputy Director with a Director or Managing Director assigned to a contract that spans multiple locations. Investigation Units are a central resource that are assigned to locations when and if the circumstances require it. It should be noted that the Dark Star Security runs on a commercial basis and provides the minimum service it can to meet the agreed service levels thus maximising profits. Its employees are mostly under-trained backed up by overworked experts in key areas.
Unlike the Dark Star Group as a whole, the security arm is organised and hierarchical. It is seen as a big mistake by many within the wider group.
