Jesikara is a pre-agricultural, pre-Industrial, moderate population world with over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.
- It requires significant imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.

System Data[edit]
Jesikara has two moons, the larger Skith and the smaller Igilfrix.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Jesikara is translated from a J'sia language as "Life Bearer". Jesi is an approximation of the sound also rendered J'si (in the race name, for example). Kara is, loosely, "that which bears or supports".
The Human (mostly Vilani) and Bwap residents of the system prefer the name Ashki.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
The planet is the home of the so-called Electric Algae, which are neither algae nor normally electric. They are scavenging amoebae with a blue-green pigment; its function is quite different from chlorophyll.
- In stormy weather the copper-based pigment collects static charges as lightning strikes the water.
- When charged, the amoebae group themselves into colonies of many strange shapes, held together by intertwining of the individual cells' cilia.
- The tendrils of these colonies shock fish with accumulated charges and thereby enrich the feeding ground of decaying matter on the shallow sea floors where the amoebae live.
Native Sophont (NIL): J'sia[edit]
A race of gentle pacifists, the J'sia often get into situations they can't handle, partly due to their tendency to meddle in other races' affairs.
History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Jesikara is a watery world.
Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]
Jesikara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of four members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial baronet.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial marquis.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial viscount.
World Starport[edit]
Jesikara has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Jesikara possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government[edit]
Jesikara is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
A political superstructure beyond the world's many communes is provided by a complex system of guilds, each of which is a cross between a computer bulletin board, professional union, and political party. Executive power over matters of planetary significance alternates between guilds every 20 planetary years (each about 700 standard days long). Thus, the current charismatic dictator is the leader of the chosen guild.
World Law Level[edit]
The Institute of Ethical Solutions is the nearest thing to a justice system in J'sia culture. The Institute arbitrates disputes between the J'sia guilds and communes, and (for a fee) will settle conflicts between individuals. Institute members must pass rigorous examinations.
World Military[edit]
No information yet available.
World Economy[edit]
Each J'sia commune functions like a private corporation combined with a university. Although private enterprise and money exist, it is communes rather than individuals or governments that own the means of production and which engage in interstellar trade.
Trade Data[edit]
No information yet available.
J'sia produce excellent computer systems and are good at designing simple, elegant electronic systems, power plants, and robotic systems. Industrial, translating, and household robots are major exports.
World Demographics[edit]
World Culture[edit]
J'sia have a rich artistic culture. Vilani and Solomani critics often enjoy their works of prose and poetry. Other pursuits are more alien: for instance, J'sia create "taste sculptures" that tell a story as another J'sia licks or eats them.
The Vilani "Harvesters", population 339,000, have a number of unique rituals distinct from those of mainstream Vilani society.
Urbanization[edit]
J'sia prefer swimming over walking, so there are few commuters in the streets, and none of the crowds found in Human or Vargr cities. Most buildings have flooded basements with underwater tunnels. These connect to bathing pools and other basements.
Each commune is largely self-supporting, with robotic factories and farms, spawning pools, religious shrines etc. all arranged around the local school or university.
The Vilani tend to live in gravitic cities.
