The Zukseg class Seeker is a TL–10 prospecting starship.
Description[edit]
Vargr Seeker (Type VJ): Using a 200-ton hull, the Vargr Seeker is a wide-ranging prospecting and mining vessel. It mounts a Jump drive-A, Maneuver drive-A, and Power plant-A, providing a performance of Jump-1 and 1G acceleration. Fuel tankage for 50.0 tons supports the power plant and one Jump-1. Adjacent to the bridge is a model/1 computer. There are four staterooms and one emergency low berth. The ship has two hardpoints and two tons allocated to fire control. Installed on the hardpoints are two single turrets: Each mounts one pulse laser. The weaponry is primarily used for mining operations. There is one ship's vehicle: A ship's boat. Cargo capacity (...primarily for ore) is 65.0 tons. The hull is not streamlined.
The Vargr Seeker requires a crew of four: pilot, navigator, engineer, and medic. Additional crew members may be added as workers. The pilot operates the ship's boat. The ship does not normally carry passengers. The ship costs MCr42.4503 (...including architect's fees, but not standard discount; exact price may vary) and takes 9 months to build.
The Zukseg-class Vargr Seeker uses a 200-ton standard hull. Fuel tankage of 50 tons supports the power plant for 12 weeks and one jump-1. The ship requires a crew of three: pilot/navigator, engineer, and medic. The ship costs MCr47.43 (including standard discount) and takes 11 months to build.

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Like its Human counterpart, the Vargr Seeker design is as old and varied as Vargr interstellar travel and resource extraction. Throughout the Vargr Extents, more variants of the Type VJ Seeker exist than can be counted.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
Unlike Trader starships, the Vargr Seeker is built around its Ship's Boat allowing it to disgorge hauls of ores into the cargo decks surrounding the smallcraft quickly and easily. Vargr Engineers tend to enjoy that their stateroom is a mere meters from the Power Plant and the Jump Drive, allowing for solitude and autonomy from other crew.
Vargr Seekers found deeper in the Vargr Extents tend to add more pulse lasers, not only to speed mining operations but to deliver more punch against Corsairs and claim jumpers.
