Zeta 2 is a barren hellworld with a tainted atmosphere and a lack of available surface water, making habitation by sophonts difficult. As a barren world it has no overt population, government, or law level. This world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here. The world has been set aside to preserve indigenous life forms, to delay resource development, or for other reasons. It is a unclaimed Non-Aligned world in the Vilis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. This is the homeworld of the Viji, a Minor Race.

History & Background (Dossier)
Zeta 2 is an Imperial Navy target range. The heavily cratered and pock marked planet is extremely radioactive. Six Navy 400 ton SMU-4C automated interdiction satellites have been place to warn off any intruders.[2]
The Railen Institute, a private research group, has established small orbital facility over Zeta 2 to study extreme-condition survival for vessels and probes.
