Zannokh is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Vargr sophonts located in the Anarsi Subsector of Vland Sector.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- Zannokh is located on the Vilani Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)
Zannokh has a solitary primary star named Lazarrg.
- It is a yellow main sequence.

System Data
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Faaleng, a tiny but spherical vacuum world orbiting within the hot inner system.
- Maen Ruz, a hot, marginally habitable world lying at the inner edge of the habitable zone.
- Zannokh, a tropical world designated as the mainworld, orbiting within the habitable zone.
- Ueghenertor, a cold, marginally habitable world lying at the outer edge of the habitable zone.
- Tsuukae, a small vacuum world, and Youtz, a trace atmosphere ice-capped world, orbit within the cold outer system.
- A tiny vacuum worldlet with an eccentric orbit lies beyond the two planets. It is designated alpha (α).
- The Jaklern Belt, a rocky planetoid belt, divides the system into an inner region and an outer region.
- Ghrerrng, a frigid largely nitrogen atmosphere world orbiting within the deep outer system.
- Three tiny but spherical vacuum worlds, designated beta (β), gamma (γ), and delta (δ), share their general orbital distance with Ghrerrng.
- They are thought to be escaped moons of the larger world.
- The Azireon Belt, a sparse but expansive planetoid belt, marking the outer edge of the system.

Mainworld Data
Mainworld Size (S)
Zannokh is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)
Zannokh has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)
Zannokh has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)
World Starport (St)
Zannokh has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)
Zannokh has population of 900 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
- 100% of the population consists of Vargr.
Urbanization
Almost all of the world is wilderness. There is only one urban center:
World Technology Level (T)
Zannokh possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)
Zannokh is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
World Law (L)
Zannokh has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data
- Importance: -1 (unimportant)
Zannokh's primary products are radioactives, software, non-metals, and compounds.
World Economy
- Resources: 6 (few)
- Labor: 1 (tens)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -3 (poor)
World Culture
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
World Timeline
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.

- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 604 to 622: the Imperial Civil War. The region suffers disruption and widespread economic issues.

- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
