• Xenology is the study of alien life. This is contrasted with general biology (the study of all life), or anthropology (the study of humanoid life).

Description (Specifications)

In the Third Imperium there are thousands of inhabited worlds, and Charted Space seems to contain millions of locations which might have biospheres containing some form of life. Xenologists study and compare the biology and ecological systems of different worlds, learning about the differences and similarities among the countless planets and environments. There are many sub-specialties of Xenology, just as there are sub-specialties of other fields such as biology, ecological history, and medicine. In an interstellar society, the work of xenologists is important alongside the efforts of their colleagues in related fields such as medical treatment, agricultural production, planetary exploration, and other areas where alien lifeforms are important to consider.
