Womar is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Frell Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- This world lies within the Rissa Gateway region.

System Data
Rangar-Womar System
The primary is Rangar, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.21 Sols, a mass of 1.04 Sols, and a diameter of 1.433 million km. It retains a companion dwarf star called Dot in a close orbit, with a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.11 Sols, and a diameter of 8,500 km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a vacuum inner world, and (III) a thin atmosphere inner world. (IV) Womar orbits in the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) a sparse planetoid belt, (VIII) a thin atmosphere bigworld, (IX) a small gas giant (X) a small ice giant, and (XI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld comprise the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(IV) Womar
(IV) Womar is designated the mainworld. It orbits Rangar at a mean distance of 1.09 AU (163.1 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 283 days 11 hours and a rotation period of 29.5 hours. The axial tilt is 16 degrees. Womar has a diameter 10,872 km, a density of 5.63 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.87 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.94 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 60% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 18°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans scour the surface. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite
Womar retains a single natural satellite, a cratered, ice capped trace atmosphere world named Thees:
- (IVa) Thees (UWP Y211000-0, orbiting Womar at 35 Diameters/380,000 km)
Mainworld geography and topography
Total surface area: 371 million km², Water surface area: 223 million km², Land surface area: 148 million km².
Native lifeforms
Womar has extensive native life. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)

World starport
Womar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Womar possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government
Womar is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
