Where The Stars End is a region of space considered to lie about 500–800 parsecs spinward-rimward of Terra

It is a huge region of Wildspace.

Metadata

Where The Stars End is part of a vast tract of largely unexplored space called the Empty Stars.

It lies to coreward of the Distant Fringe and to trailing of the Infinitys Shore region. It was initially surveyed and named around 2255AD by humans fleeing the destruction of Terra at the hands of the Vilani Imperium.

The Phanic Group, a large cluster of stars within its central region, is believed to be the current location of the Voyagers, gigantic space-dwelling geovores that ravaged the Distant Fringe a millennia ago.

The Where The Stars End region is made up of huge clusters of stars and broad Shadow Rifts.

It covers 32 sectors and contains 5496 separate star systems.

History & Background (Dossier)

Demographics

As of 5600AD, the Where The Stars End region is officially considered to be unpopulated. There are very probably as-yet uncontacted NILs among its many worlds.

Possible Human Settlement

Historians argue that there are very probably human-settled worlds exist within the Where The Stars End region, most likely within its rimwart parts, populated by descendants of the Cripple Fleet.

The ships of the Cripple Fleet had healthy and viable crews and carried settlers and pioneers in long-term cold sleep, large numbers of Artificial Gestation Units, vast banks of embryos, and substantial quantities of supplies. It would be very unfortunate if all were lost without being able to settle one or more worlds. To date, none of these supposed lost settlements have made any form of contact.

The Dillard-Purcell Expedition of the late 53rd century claimed to have discovered a lost settlement called the Lords of the High Realm. This bizarre and violent state may be nothing other than fiction: the survivors of the expedition had little by way of evidence to back their claims.
