A low-population, non-industrial Imperial world located in the Regina Subsector of the Spinward Marches. Whanga is a very large, young world orbiting a gas giant. The world has frequent earthquakes and many volcanoes. Whanga has a warm climate and a standard oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere tainted with sulfur.
History
In 1059 was Whanga surveyed as part of the Second Survey; the planet's population was found to be in serious decline.
In 1096 an Imperial Scout expedition to Whanga determined that the population had become extinct.
In 1099 Whanga was granted to the Duke of Regina by the Archduke of Deneb as a fiefdom-in-perpetuity.
During the Fifth Frontier War Whanga was declared a combat zone on 014-1108
