Viepchakl is a barren world with no overt population, government, or law level.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

The Zhdant system has a solitary primary star.

  • It is an orange main sequence named Pliebr.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Satellite Data[edit]

Vliepchakl and Zhdant, its primary world, orbit within Pliebr's Habitable Zone.

  • They lie within the zones prime H region.
  • They receive moderate levels of stellar energy.

Viepchakl orbits Zhdant once every 40 Zhdanstial, or once every 45 standard days.

Eclipses[edit]

As Viepchakl moves around Zhdant, it periodically eclipses Pliebr, the star.

  • Pliebr occupies less than 0.7 arcseconds in the sky, wheras Viepchakl occupies about 0.9 arcseconds.
  • Partial eclipses occur regularly, with light levels dramatically dropping as Pliebr is hidden by the moon.
    • A "diamond ring" effect is often visible, with the star standing on Viepchakl's limb for many minutes.
  • A full eclipse completely obscures the star, plunging Zhdant into darkness.
    • A full eclipse can last for up to an hour.

Satellite Size (S)[edit]

Viepchakl is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Satellite Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Viepchakl has a pressure of 0.09 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Satellite Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Viepchakl has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

  • The world has an arid, hostile surface environment.

Satellite Geography and Topography[edit]

A basic map of Viepchakl, the moon of Zhdant, showing the arid flatlands, rugged highland regions, and vast, sheer-sided canyons that make up its surface.

  • Far more detailed maps are available locally.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Primitive microscopic native life occupying a number of ecological niches. Its metabolic functions help drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Seasonal blooms and diebacks of organisms can dramatically change the color of the moon.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Viepchakl is the moon of Zhdant, the Zhodani homeworld.

The system is bustling.

  • Commercial vessels arrive and depart constantly
  • Commo is buzzing with chatter and signals. Communications are in Zdetl.
  • Multiple navigation beacons are active.
  • Vessels regularly travel among the worlds and moons that make up the system.
  • Naval vessels are active in the system.

Note that social data, though frequently updated, may be out of date: additional groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

A population of Chirpers appear to have once inhabited the world.

  • They inhabited sealed subterranean cave-cities.
  • The population are apparently extinct.

World Spaceport (St)[edit]

Viepchakl does not have a spaceport. The Class Y Spaceport is an indication no port exists on this world. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Viepchakl possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.

  • The world has no technological base.

World Government (G)[edit]

Viepchakl has no government or ruling authority of any kind.

  • It is administered from Zhdant.

World Military[edit]

None.

World Law (L)[edit]

Viepchakl has no law level.

  • The laws of Zhdant are used as precedent, should a crime be committed and the miscreant apprehended.

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Viepchakl is unpopulated.

Urbanization[edit]

Remains of structures can be found in various locations around the globe.

  • Some are the remains of Zhdant's first steps into space, dating from millennia ago. These are protected as historical monuments.
  • Some appear to have been Chirper in origin. They predate the earliest Zhodani activity on Viepchakl by tens of thousands of years.
