Uwada is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Genesti Subsector of Far Home Sector.
- Uwada is a Voluntarily Regressive World
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data
Masic-Uwada System
The primary is Masic, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.102 Sols, a mass of 1.02 Sols, and a diameter of 1.399 million km. The inner system consists of (II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (IV) Uwada orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VI) a ringed large gas giant, (VII) a large gas giant, (VIII) a small gas giant, (IX-I) a ringed large gas giant, and (IX-II) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(IV) Uwada
(IV) Uwada is designated the mainworld. It orbits Masic at a mean distance of 1.02 AU (152.6 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 7 days and a rotation period of 25 hours. The axial tilt is 41 degrees. Uwada has a diameter of 10,287 km, a density of 6.99 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.02 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.68 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 19% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 74% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 32°C. The climate is rated as Hot and experiences major seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe.
Satellites
Uwada retains two natural satellites, a vacuum worldlet named Sumuko and vacuum worldlet a thin atmosphere hospitable moon named Zanabar:
- (IVa) Sumuko (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 20 Diameters/205,000 km)
- (IVb) Zanabar (UWP Y455000-0, orbiting at 35 Diameters/360,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 332 million km², Land surface area: 246 million km², Water surface area: 86 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Masic-Uwada System
Uwada, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Zanabar, Uwada's temperate hospitable outer moon, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (V) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Uwada has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Uwada possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World government
Uwada has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
