Utoland has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. The governance of this world is from Arden (Spinward Marches 1011). It is a Human dominated Non-Aligned world in the Jewell Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. This world hosts a Military Base for support of military ground forces.
Astrography & Planetology
Utoland is a member of the Spinward Main.
Utoland's population of 40,000 live mostly in and around Utane, the world's single major city. A group of mines lie clustered about 100 km south of Utane and is connected to the city by a monorail line.

The Federation of Arden is particularly influential on Utoland and is considered to control the world. Although rated "non-industrial," Arden-backed industrial concerns, operated by personnel brought in for the purpose, are currently operating on the planet.
History-Era: Milieu 1120
In 1106 Utoland was taken over by the recently expansionist Federation of Arden, which imposed a colonial administration on it and proceeded to strip it of resources, ostensibly to bolster its own developing economy.
