Uthith is a non-agricultural, pre-industrial, moderate population world with over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.

  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
  • This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
  • It is a member of the 40th Squadron in the Uthe Subsector of Gvurrdon Sector in the Vargr Extents.
  • This world-system hosts a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
  • Uthith also known as Tsaengngo (world) in some circles is the capital and of naval headquarters of the 40th Squadron.
  • The 40th squadron in turn is locally known as the Ekhlle Ksafi.

History & Background (Dossier)

The 40th Squadron was part of the Outworld Coalition during the 5th Frontier War.

  • The system is located in the Uthe Subsector of the Gvurrdon Sector, and represents the corsair bands that survived the 5th frontier war, sued for separate peace treaties and cease fire agreements which allowed the remnants of the Gireel and Uthith Fleets to escape back across the border.
  • The mysterious origin of this political entities' naval strength has perplexed historians. The ships stationed at this Naval Base are clearly not built in this region of space. Some arms dealing from more powerful Vargr and Zhodani allies are assumed to be responsible, on the condition that the squadron continue to harass imperial shipping in preference to their own.
  • This naval force is sufficient, when combined with the fierce raider bands and their landing parties, to force a few surrounding planets to acknowledge their charismatic "leadership".

In recent years the planet has seen an upgrade in starport facilities with the construction of extensive orbital shipyards, and an influx of population.

  • The flood of workers trained in industrial manufacturing, has cost the world its non-industrial trade classification.
  • The nature and motives of the secret allies and benefactors can only be guessed at.
  • There are rumors of a captured 200,000ton imperial battleship which serves as the flagship for the squadron.
  • The majority of the ships are capable of at least Jump-3 and displace from 100-1,000tons, with 400ton Corsair Vessels being the predominant design.
  • The ground forces range from elite TL-14 units to reserve TL-10 formations. The lower tech troops tend to garrison the lower population and more primitive worlds in the subsector.
