Ussine is a large water world with very deep oceans and less than 1% of its land above sea level. The system has a population of less than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Remnants Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ussine, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Kaniash.

Astrography and Planetology

Ussine has had a tortuous existence. The world is continually bombarded by small asteroids, giving rise to giant tidal waves the sweep across the planet wide ocean. This violence has halted any large scale colonization on the small chains of islands, on this otherwise pleasant world.

There are a small number of tourists who visit to wonder at the angry oceans as well as its more peaceful moments, like when the seas take on the appearance of a smooth sheet of copper.

Ussine is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Ussine is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Ussine has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Ussine has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.

World Population (P)

Ussine has a population of 1,000 sophonts (thousands).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
