System data

Kusak-Uror System

The primary is Kusak, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 7.18 Sols, a mass of 1.62 Sols, and a diameter of 2.282 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (V) a dense atmosphere stormworld. (VI) Uror orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VII) a ringed small gas giant, (VIII) a small ice giant, (IX) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (X) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld data

(VI) Uror

(VI) World is designated the mainworld. It orbits Kusak at a mean distance of 2.7 AU (403.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 3 years 177 days and a rotation period of 18.5 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Uror has a diameter 9,717 km, a density of 5.59 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.77 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.23 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 48% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 44°C. The atmosphere is sluggish and weak weather systems driven by the star slowly cross the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite

Uror retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum world named Ranu:

(VIa) Ranu (UWP Y300000-0, orbiting Uror at 16 Diameters/155,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography

Total surface area: 297 million km², Land surface area: 167 million km², Water surface area: 130 million km².

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World starport

Uror has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Uror possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World government

Uror is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.
